I'm a first time buyer of Star Grips. Tried the STX and after using them for 4 or 5 rounds, I'm sold. They don't move around, and are very tacky. Installation with the free installation tool was very easy after the first couple of clubs. It took longer to clean the old stuff off than to install the new ones. I'll be back!
I don’t wear glove for over 15 years this is the one. I’ve tried (mcc, winn, cp2, etc). It doesn’t slip out of my hand. When raining just have a dry towel handy in few seconds it becomes tacky.
No grip is perfect but this one sidewinder agrees with me.
I like to put Wraps on my woods. GP's feels plasticky, but Star's is nice and soft while maintaining plenty of grip. Really great option if you like the shape and feel of Wraps but didn't like GP's plasticky surface feel.
This is my first purchase from Star after having used the other solvent free brand (Pxxx) for years. I'm so glad I found Star. These grips have some of the best tactile feel in the industry, they're durable, and they're confidence-inspiring in the hands. They feel tackier and softer (but not squishy) than GP and Lamkin versions. Great grip.
I have played three rounds with these new grips. The grips have a nice feel and getting use to them, but I wish I had used a couple of wraps of build up tape for my right hand. They are thinner than what I usually played in the past. I do not have the air installation gun so I put them on the old way with tape and grip solvent. I may purchase the gun for future installations.
All grips feel okay but i do have an issue with my sand wedge where the grip at the tapered end is not fitting and does slide. All others feel stable, but I have not used them in full practice yet.
This may happen on shafts which have a .580" butt diameter, which is common on some brands of wedges. The easiest fix is to put a few wraps of build-up tape under the grip, usually 3-4 wraps depending on the thickness of the tape, to make the shaft the same diameter as the inside of the grips which are .600".
I went with the sidewinder mid-size. I did use tape and solvent. Grips are great. Easy to put on. Got the tack I like. Already have purchased more!!
I was curious about Star Grips but didn't want to commit to buying a single grip and paying shipping for something I may not like. The sample program allowed me to purchase 3 grips and try them on different clubs to ensure a good fit throughout the bag. I have since purchased a whole set of Sidewinders and got the compressor tool as well. These grips have a fantastic feel, tack, and look. Well worth giving them a shot.
I've used these grips for a few rounds and was very impressed.
The installation was pretty easy as well.
I bought the mid size grips, and used painters tape on the lower half to build it up some. I did run into a little issue getting the grip over the tape. After re-reading the instructions, adjusting my hand position helped out.
I do wish some info about the suggested psi for installation was provided, it took some trail and error to get it right.
This an amazing grip. Just the right feel. Definitely a great replacement for the PURE grips. Star Grips continues to make a solid product. Highly recommended.
I love the tapeless install and it’s really easy to put grips on and take them off. I’m personally a big fan of the Classic Wrap but I don’t understand why the pattern doesn’t go all the way around. I don’t like new markings on the bottom side of the wrap because you have to worry about lining it up properly in install. We tried a putter grip as well, the grip seems to be too short and the taper doesn’t feel quite right. Part of the feel issue may be from using other brands pistol grips and such.
Ordered the sample grips. Wanted to see how they would work before committing. Put one on my SW. Wedge has never felt so good. Love that they are made in the US. Love the tackiness.
I LOVE MY NEW GRIPS! Thank you to the staff for the help over the phone. They look and feel great. I think it's dope that they don't have any visible branding on them.
As a serial tinker-er of my golf equipment and grips, these have been fantastic. I prefer the tacky feel vs the GP tour velvets I've used historically, and the ability to easily blow these on / off to adjust build up tape is terrific.
I purchased 12 of these after testing a sample grip. I've got another sample of the new STX grip on the way - love that they allow you to order samples of a few different grips. Great company and great products!
For the past few years I've been playing Pure DTX grips. After Pure went out of business, I was bummed my favorite grip was gone. StarGrips to the rescue! After seeing an "Easter egg" post of the new STX grips on StarGrips Instagram, I fired off an email to see when they would be released. Hayden at StarGrips hooked me up with a few sample grips to test out. I ended up buying a full set! Awesome grips! 100 times better than my old Pure DTX. The new STX grips have nice reduced taper (which I like). Great feel | great look! Highly recommended!

First time buyer of Star grips. Been playing golf prides for the longest time, primarily the MCC and I can honestly say that these feel so much better. Great tackiness, 360 design, 3 year guarantee and made in the USA, can’t believe I haven’t heard about this brand until recently. More people need to try these out, especially for what you’re getting from a price standpoint as compared to most other grips. Under $9 and they run discounts throughout the year, no brainer as far as I’m concerned for anyone looking for a new grip. Looking forward to putting these grips through the paces and testing out the overall durability as compared to the MCC, which is a great grip.

I recently purchased a couple of these to try on my wedges and loved them. Now I have them on every club, easy to install, feels similar to your velvets and they’re made is the USA. These are hard to beat. Midsize feels great I wear and XL glove for reference.
